– About William Cramp –
The William Cramp School was founded in 1964 and was named after the famous Philadelphia shipbuilder, William Cramp, who was born 1807. The descendant of German immigrants of the early 1700’s who settled down near Delaware, his father and grandfather were involved in the shipbuilding business as a young child, William observed the techniques of shipbuilding first-hand which led to a career in the shipbuilding business that is still remembered today.
